Project

# Modern Contrast in Herndon Master Bathroom

See a Herndon, VA master bathroom remodel with a dramatic black vanity, marble mosaic tile, brushed brass fixtures and a freestanding tub.

![Modern black bathroom vanity with black marble countertop, gold hardware, and white tile wall in a Herndon, VA home remodel.](https://www.virginiaremodelingroup.com/hubfs/SEO%20ADJUSTED/HERNDON%20LEVENT%20BATH/black-white-bathroom-remodel-herndon-vanity-darken-va.jpg)

- **$38K**Project cost
- **Primary bath**Scope
- **Black vanity**Signature piece

Done with intention, high contrast turns an everyday bathroom into a retreat. This Herndon primary bath pairs a moody black vanity and shower with bright marble surfaces and warm brass, so it feels grounded and indulgent at the same time.

## A statement vanity

The custom matte black shaker vanity is topped with a heavily veined dark stone counter, its white veining sweeping across the polished surface.

- Slim brushed brass bar pulls follow the clean cabinet lines
- A geometric brushed gold faucet over an undermount sink keeps the top uncluttered
- A thin brass-framed mirror and matching sconce bounce light from the white marble tile and skylight

## A mosaic wall behind the tub

Across from the vanity, a freestanding white soaking tub sits against a custom mosaic wall instead of plain paint or tile.

- A framed inset of marble basketweave tile with dark dot accents, edged in brass trim
- Marble arabesque mosaic around the frame for soft movement
- Wall-mounted cross-handle controls and an arched brass tub filler, keeping the floor around the tub clear

## A moody walk-in shower

Inside the glass enclosure, horizontal black subway tile sets a rich backdrop against the white marble feature wall. Brushed brass fixtures, including a handheld wand, stand out against the dark tile, and large-format marble-look floor tile ties the shower, vanity and tub together.
