This Herndon kitchen pairs clean white cabinetry with a dramatic black island and a professional-style range. The result is high contrast, easy to keep clean, and built for a family that cooks every day.
What we built
- White cabinetry to the ceiling with long matte black bar pulls
- A black veined, stone-look island with a waterfall end and seating for four
- A marble-look slab backsplash behind the range and sink
- A pro-style range with double ovens, a stainless chimney hood and a pot filler
- A matte black pull-down faucet over the main sink
- A stainless French-door refrigerator and built-in wall oven
Why it works
The black island anchors the room and gives the white kitchen a focal point, while the dark countertops tie it back to the perimeter. Hardware and the faucet repeat the black, so the whole room reads as one design rather than a set of separate choices.
