A classic white kitchen, done right. This Chantilly remodel centers on a large white island with room for four, framed by white shaker cabinetry and warm dark hardwood floors.
What we built
- White shaker cabinetry with glass-front display cabinets
- A large white island with seating for four
- Light countertops across the island and perimeter
- Three glass pendant lights over the island
- Built-in wall ovens and stainless appliances
- Dark hardwood floors that ground the bright cabinetry
Why it works
White cabinets and light counters keep the room bright, and the dark floors add contrast so it never feels flat. The island gives the family one place to cook, eat and gather, which is what most kitchens in this area are asked to do.
